Brain Transplant

Relatives gathered in the waiting room of a hospital as their family member lay gravely ill.
Finally, the doctor came in looking tired.
"I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news," he said as he surveyed the worried faces.
"The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant.
It's an experimental procedure, very risky but it is the only hope."
"Insurance will cover the procedure, but you will have to pay for the brain yourselves."
The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news.
After a great length of time, someone asked, "Well, how much does a brain cost?"
The doctor quickly responded, "$5,000 for a male brain, and $200 for a female brain."
The moment turned awkward. Men in the room tried not to smile, avoiding eye contact with the women, but some actually smirked.
A man, unable to control his curiosity, blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask, "Why is the male brain so much more?"
The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire group, "It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to mark down the price of the female brains, because they've actually been used."

Custody Ruling in Ontario's Superior Court

A seven year old boy from Toronto was at the centre of a courtroom drama in an Ontario Superior Courthouse this week when he challenged a court ruling over who should have legal custody of the juvenile.
The boy has a history of being beaten repeatedly by both parents and the judge had previously awarded custody to the boy's aunt.
The boy confirmed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and refused to live there.
When the judge then suggested that he be placed with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they beat him more severely than anyone.
The judge, in an unprecedented ruling, dramatically allowed the boy, in spite of his youth and obvious inexperience, to make his own choice as to who should have legal guardianship over him. In front of a packed and cheering courtroom this morning, custody was subsequently granted to the Toronto Maple Leafs as the boy stated his firm belief that they are, in point of fact, not capable of beating anyone.

Earthquake Unites Pakistanis!

The way people of Pakistan are coming forward and the way they are contributing in relief efforts all around the Pakistan depicts the sense of unity, togetherness, brotherhood, generosity, care for the life of others, respect and a feeling of patriotism and love for other Pakistanis that has become visible after soooooooo many years in Pakistan's history. Infact i never saw such unity before , such hunger for people to help others . People set up the camps for the relief of the sufferers everywhere in the country. People again at the same time donated in these camps whole heartedly. They are giving whatever they can in tons. Donations, Clothes, Beds, Blankets, Buiscuits and other food items , Medicines e.tc. Just an examle, in Karachi, there is a huge camp set up at PAF Museum which is always filled with people donating such items. Even at 2 O'clock in the night , there are hundreds and thousands of people there donating the items. I am sure the same response is generated everywhere in the country. Even when the earthquake came, people with their hands removed the rubble in search of not only their loved ones but the ones whom they dont know. The local people set up camps in the affected areas. Pakistani Doctors reaching the effective areas and helping the wounded. Pakistani Armies Engineers and Doctors working all day and all night to clear the roads, reach the far flung corners and set up mobile medical camps and treating the wounded and even bringing them on helicopters to the hospitals in Islamabad, Peshawer etc.

I mean to say is that this is the spirit we need, this is the spirit that can turn around Pakistan, this earthquake has given us a chance to reunite once again. The care and love that each Pakistani has for others right now should be kept like this forever. We shouldnt lose this. We shouldnt forget the hard time that we have faced now and still facing, we should act and live in a manner and keep working hard like we are working now so that after 10-20 years we look back at it and say that we were demolished back than and now we are back at our own feet stronger than ever.

I feel great to see all the Pakistanis toiling hard and doing their best to support their wounded, homeless, in pain,in agony, distressed brothers and sisters. All the Pakistanis are deeply grieved, dissappointed upon the death of so many people at the same time. May Allah give them a place in Paradise. (Amen)

The Survivors Speak!

Four men who went from Karachi and stayed in Azad Kashmir were the four lucky ones as they survived. They stayed in the hotel. According to them :

"When the earthquake came, it was like train moving with jerks in between. We came out of the hotel immediately and sat outside on a bench. Then the bigger and the most devastating shockwave came, road splitted into two parts, the hotel fell down, our bench went a bit inside and got stuck. We saw young kids weeping and falling , we saw a court house and the jail building all succumbing to the earthquake. We saw people's corpse falling down the mountains and and the river filled with blood of the beings. We saw buildings debris and rubble everywhere and roads closed."

Miraculous Events after the Quake!

Man survived and a women as the man called from the cell when he was inside the debris of Islamabad's Margala Tower. Women's arm had to be cut when she was taken out of the building debris but she is alive.

British Rescue Team found yesterday night 3-4 people alive.

After 24 hours:

2 Children found alive in the school building debris. (Location not confirmed)

After 36 hours:

A 20 year man found alive from the Margala Tower Building Islamabad's debris.

After 50 hours:

A 2 year baby found out alive from the debris of house (possibly). No one expected that really as the 2 year baby was alone. Thanks AlMighty Allah.

After 60 hours:

French Team along with locals found out 40 children alive from the school building debris in Balakaut. That school however had almost 200 (not confirmed) children in it.

RapidUK British Team found a 3 year old child alive from the Margala Tower Debris.

After 82 hours:
A mother and her daughter found alive from the Margala Tower Building Debris by British Rescue Team.

Many more miraculous events will unfold in the coming days.

InshaAllah (Godwilling) more lives will be saved.

However, toll reached
40'000.
Pakistani Official sources still say
23000 dead.

Quake toll reaches 30'000

Its going up and up and fears are there that it will climb up further. The reason is that northern parts of Pakistan have become inaccessible by land due to the paths being blocked by mud sliding and other obstacles. So the relief operations can only be done with helicopters providing aid. The Abbotabad, Manshera, Hazara , Bala Kout and Muzaffarabad needs a really quick attention because lots of people are still burried under the debris.

British, Turkish, Chinese, Russian aid arrived and American aid is arriving. British and Turkish teams brought with themselves dogs that can find a person burried under the debris. The british and chinese brought their own instruments of finding persons under the debris. British instruments are based on sensing the human's oxygen inhaling capability deep inside the debris. They even found 3-4 persons alive yesterday night from the tower that fell down in Islamabad. I hope these teams find more and more persons alive. Pakistan Army is doing its bid, they are working in northern areas and bringing wounded people to hospitals from helicopters. However the real job is to bring out the ones still in the debris in the northern areas and for that machinery has to be provided in some way to Northern Areas.

People need food and shelter because the cold season is underway in the northern areas. Even in islamabad the day temperature is 35 degrees and the night temperature drops down to 15 degrees where as in areas like muzaffarabad temerature fall below the 15 degree mark easily in the night.

Islamabad Margala Tower Statstics:
100 people survived (other source said 86)
100 died (can be different)
25 still burried (assumed)

Northern Area Stats:
30000 deaths (can rise because people are burried under the debris)
40000 injured
(stats courtesy ARY Digital)

Organizations working in Pakistan:
United Nations
MercyCops
Red Cross
(few more)

Earthquake hits Northern Pakistan

North of Pakistan including Islamabad suffered a heavy earthquake rated 7.6 on Pakistani richter scale whereas Japanese are declaring it a 7.8. The earthquake destroyed towns and villages in Northern Pakistan especially in Manshera , Bala Kout, Muzaffarabad and other areas of Azad Kashmir and on the Occupied Kashmir as well. Heavy loss suffered in the regions near to these areas as well. The shockwaves could have been sensed in Kabul and in India's capital New Delhi. The epicenter was in Hindukash region. Some were predicting the center to be 100kms away from Islamabad in north of Pakistan. In Islamabad, an apartment building fell down in such a way that above the ground were only 7th,8th and above that floors were present whereas the floors from 1-5 were below the ground level. The apartment contained approx. 20 houses with 5 rooms in each house and considered to have 100-150 people inside it trapped. Some were saying 200 as well. It was so shocking and at the same time dejected, desponding, woeful whatever you call it...a really painful and sad feeling to look what happened. Every Pakistani was in shock and was in a spirit to help the needy ones. Even today when i am writing this post , 20 hours after the earthquakes, the debris from that Islamabad building is yet to be fully cleared and this is the capital of the city, who knows what has happened elsewhere. This shows we have no plans available for such crisis. No machinery came on exact time but 2,3 hours after that. I wonder this will cause the Corridors of Power to ponder and create some strategic plans for future. May Allah forgive all the sins of those who died and give their relatives courage to face the difficult time (Amen).

God told me to.....Bush!

"God had told me to Invade Iraq", These are the words of Bush. He told them when he met the Palestine Authority.

God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"

Melbourne Telstra Dome Awesome!

This is a shot of Melbourne Telstra Dome where SuperSeries between Australia and World XI is being played. Well i just cant resist to appreciate the way they make their stadiums. The roof covering the entire stadium so that matches can be played even if it rains cats and dogs. They love their sports no doubt.

Why not a United Ramazan ?

Why not a United Ramazan is observed in the whole country ?. I mean there are some areas where the moon is sighted one day before the Ramazan's are declared in the country by the Royet-e-Hilal Committee. I mean this goes out of my mind why the people of Pakistan celebrate two Eid's everytime. In northern Areas probably people sight the moon and if they are so sure than either that time the desicion should be made for the whole country or if the northern area people are not sure than they shouldnt start their Ramazan as well. I mean Americans and the Saudis celebrate a single Eid and Pakistan is an exception in muslim world when it comes to sighting a moon. Pathaano ko chaand kaisay nazar ajata hai bhai ?...yeh aaj tuk samjh nahi aai.. and for how long we will keep celebrating two Eid's in Pakistan. Pakistan is not a China. I think Royet-e-Hilal Committee's desicion should be final and binding upon all.
